CE labelling is mandatory for products which are defined in a European standard. According to the Construction Products Regulations, they are associated with a performance statement which the manufacturer/supplier must provide to its customers without being requested. The information on the CE label can be made according to various procedures. They only determine which information must be provided. No minimum level is determined, therefore the CE label does not provide a quality mark and is also not monitored (internal or third-party).
FM certificates are internal approvals by the American insurance company FM Global. It wishes to ensure that the insurance risk is minimised by the compliance with its requirements. The certificates are issued by the subsidiary company, FM Approvals, after various product tests have been carried out. FM Approvals has produced a set of rules specifically for these tests in which the product-specific tests of all kinds are described. Up until now, Hoesch Bausysteme has passed the fire tests in accordance with "FM 4880 for unlimited amounts" for all sandwich products which were in production in 2010. Here there is also an annual quality audit. Work is currently ongoing for a certificate for trapezoidal profiles and consideration is being given to an expansion of the certificate for the sandwich products in accordance with the FM standard 4881. Certified only for the internal use.
Fire protection classification
The ems-isolier® cold store panel with its PIR insulating core was the first building component with a polyurethanerigid foam insulating core to have achieved classification up to B-s1, d0 and fire resistance classes up to Al 60 in accordance with DIN en 13501-2, as well as a tested fire resistance class of e90.
ems-isolier® FIREtec® systems
ems-isolier® FIREtec® systems with PIR insulating cores do not add to a fire, they also help prevent a fire spreading further. They are self-extinguishing and are characterised by minimal smoke creation in the event of a fire. In this way they offer extensive levels of fire prevention with the highest insulation capacity, also contributing to a reduction in the insurance premiums.
